Why Your Website Needs a Care Plan

Websites cannot simply be launched and left alone. Without ongoing attention, they become vulnerable to hacks, errors, and performance slowdowns. Care Plans keep your site safe. Here is what is happening behind the scenes on a protected site:

• Daily Backups: We capture complete daily backups of your content files and database, storing them securely off-site for up to 90 days. If anything goes wrong, a restoration is just a phone call away.
• Software & Plugin Updates: WordPress core and plugins require frequent updates to patch security vulnerabilities. We monitor and apply these updates daily to keep your site safe and compatible.
• Malware & Security Scans: Daily automated scans watch for brewing problems, malicious code, and suspicious activity.
• Performance Optimization: Monthly database cleanups and spam comment removals keep your site running smoothly and fast.
• Monthly Reporting: Every plan includes an emailed monthly report detailing the maintenance work performed on your site.

What Hackers Are Doing (And How We Stop It)

The internet is full of automated bots and malicious actors attempting to exploit unsecured sites. Common threats include:

Choose Your Plan

• Essentials Plan: Our most popular plan as it fits most clients.
• Plus Plan: Required for eCommerce websites (6 or more products) or membership websites.
• Pro Plan: Designed for clients requiring heavy monthly or quarterly maintenance.
• Additional Websites: Add extra websites at a flat monthly rate on the same plan. Update minutes are shared across websites on the same account. (Note: If shared minutes are insufficient, the second website will require its own separate plan.)

Annual Payments: Pay annually for any plan and get 11 months for the price of 12 (one month free)! Plans can be upgraded or downgraded at any time to accommodate seasonal changes.

Included in Every Plan - Monthly Update Minutes

Unlike most providers, every KMS Care Plan includes monthly minutes to make updates to your site.

• What's Included: Adding or updating text, images, forms, video, blog posts, social media links, scheduling calendars, or adding brand-new pages and navigational changes.
• How It Works: Submit requests via email only (no text messages). Requests are handled in the order received within 4 to 6 business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 EST.
• Rollover Minutes: Unused minutes roll over month-to-month for up to 3 consecutive months before expiring.
• Overages: Time spent exceeding your allotted monthly minutes is billed at our standard hourly rate of $68/hour.

All plans include Tech Time

Care Plan subscribers can email technical questions regarding WordPress, domain registration, hosting, email, security, content, or formatting.

• Most often used to forward emails to me for review when you are not sure what to do
• 15 minutes/month
• Note: This covers advisory support and answers, but does not include actual site work or training.
• Technical support time does not roll over from month to month.

What is NOT Covered Under Update Minutes

The following tasks fall outside standard update minutes and are billed at $68/hour: Integrating AI of any kind, Google Tag Manager snippets, SEO title tags/meta descriptions, Google Analytics/Search Console setup, domain and hosting provider changes, logo design, and email provider updates.

Important Terms & Conditions

• Prerequisite: Websites not built by KMS, or finished more than 120 days prior, require a Website Health Check. A one-time compliance fee applies ($68).
• Billing: Monthly plans require automated credit card payments via my Stripe account. (I do not accept Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, and CashApp for monthly subscriptions). Annual plans can be paid via check, credit card, or Zelle.
• Cancellations: No long-term contracts are required. Cancellations require a 30-day written notice (email is accepted).
